China Chronicles:
June 11th, 2005
We made it to Hong Kong! Quite a busy day, unfortunately Michael is passed
out (sleeping), and I already got just a "tad" sick today. Aside from that little
snag, today was a truly amazing day and we have not even met Alivia yet! The
words SURREAL were repeated numerous times through out the day. I just
don't know how else to explain or express the excitement, emotions, and
anticipation we are all experiencing. There are just no words for it.
To keep the group busy for the day while we wait.....we had a WONDERFUL tour
of Hong Kong which started with Dim Sum for lunch (now I know just a few of
you are jealous), then proceeded on to a full day of site seeing. Highlights for
today.... Victoria Peak, Aberdeen Bay, dragon boat races, largest floating
restaurant in the world, jewelry shopping (sorry no purchase of jewels today)
and one market place where Awgust spent some time looking for the nearest
"toilette" (apparently they are not called "restroom" in Hong Kong). I'll let you
figure out the rest of that story on your own ;) Can you say oatmeal for
breakfast and oatmeal for dinner?
The computer is also a "tad" on the fritz as it claims we are out of memory!
Don't worry, it will be OK, just a minor technical issue.......after Michael awakens
we'll have it all fixed ;)
That's all for now, as I really am not feeling well and need to sleep,
Awgust (& Michael)

Alivia Sierra LuXue
Landed fresh and ready to go......well sorta :)
Ready to go anyway, 14 hours is a really long
time. Seven hours into the trip we both
said...."are we there yet?"
So here we go.....off to the hotel. The minute
we stepped out of the doors from the airport a
wall of heat and humidity hit like a ton of
bricks....I kinda liked it, but I'm always cold.
Michael not so much.
Just a "little" artwork in the Shangri-La.
Note the seats below.
If you look REALLY hard you can see my head to
the right in a gold chair (to the left of the person in
lime green). I was wiped out and beginning to feel
very sick by this time. No interest in the artwork at
all.....must be sick. Mike however had to get
pictures as it was all so "large" and beautiful. Glad
he did :)

Dragon boat races....National holiday
in Hong Kong.
The roof of our boat on the river....Toto we are
definitely not in Kansas anymore!
The people
who live on
the river in
Hong Kong
are called the
"boat people".
Apparently
the boat
people have
furry friends.
Note his
"collar" is a
piece of rope.
Aberdeen Bay (named after the
sandalwood that grows there) meaning
fragrant bay. Largest floating restaurant in
the world.
Awgust at Stanley Market
place chowing down
moments before........ well
let's just say that is when
knowing that you must ask
for the "toilette" not the
restroom came in handy.
It should be really clear to you by now
who is holding the camera most of the
time documenting my every move...I
mean our adventure and it ain't me
cause I am chowing down on my
chocolate muffin. Although I am
responsible for the scenery pics.
